The atmosphere is festive and bright, with lots of rides and food. The criticisms: it's more a funfair than a craft market, prices are high and vary widely from stall to stall, and the stalls all look alike.
Fun for an evening with children or friends, but not for crafts. For authenticity, aim for Notre-Dame or Alsace.

Most reviews call it a tourist trap: excessive prices (a waffle for €10), mediocre quality, a single entrance and exit that causes queues, and aggressive unlicensed street sellers around the site.
Avoid it if you have a choice. Notre-Dame or the Tuileries are nicer.
