German Christmas markets in India
Each runs for one weekend in December. Delhi's market — in 2025 its 26th edition — is organised by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce with the German Embassy on the PSOI lawns in Chanakyapuri. Bengaluru's Christkindlesmarkt is run by NürnbergMesse India, the Indian arm of the company behind the Nuremberg trade fairs.
What to eat, drink and buy
Bratwurst, pretzels, stollen, gingerbread and mulled wine (and non-alcoholic punch), alongside Indian street food. To take home: Christmas decorations, handmade gifts, German brands and baked goods.
Tips for a good visit
Buy tickets online in advance — both markets charge entry. Go early in the afternoon to avoid the evening crowds, and use the metro or a cab: parking is limited.
